Ronald W. Krebs Obituary - 2024 (2024)

Ronald W. Krebs age 89 of Beloit, WI died Friday January 12, 2024, at Cedar Crest in Janesville. He was born May 6, 1934 to Waldemar and Violet (Jeffers) Krebs in Beloit, WI. Ron graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1952. He served in the U. S. Army until his honorable discharge. Ron married Donna Wollslair on March 10, 1956. He was a lifetime member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church and served on the board.

Ron worked all of his working days for True Value/Cotter & Company out of Chicago. He enjoyed setting up paint departments and traveling to stores throughout the State of Wisconsin. He was a master handyman and always willing to help his family out with projects. He enjoyed going out for Friday night fish fry with his wife and always felt he was living pretty “high off the hog” when they did so. His passion was “putzing” around their cottage in Rhinelander, WI on Clear Lake. He felt it was “God’s country”.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna Krebs (Wollslair); his children, Michelle (Gary) Hahn of Beloit, WI, Kristi (Dan) DeWitt of Clinton, WI; his three grandchildren Chelsey (Michael) Neuhaus of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Lindsey (Matthew) Kostris of Jupiter, FL, and Cal (Jenna) DeWitt of Beloit, WI and two great-grandchildren, Moxson and Oakley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldemar and Violet (Jeffers) Krebs.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Crest and special thanks to Sherri. Also, they would like to thank the family and friends that came to visit during his stay at Cedar Crest.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Ron’s name to the Lake Mildred & Clear Lake Property Owners Association. It will be used for stocking and maintaining clean water at his favorite lake.
