As of March 2024, individuals do not need to go through a background check to gain a permit from the sheriff in order to purchase a gun. With these two major requirements no longer enforced, individuals only need to be above the age of 18 and free of a felony record to legally purchase a firearm.

These are individuals who have acquired a Federal Firearms License, or FFL, from ATF to operate a business buying and selling firearms. FFL dealers are required to comply with strict laws regarding the sale and transfer of firearms.

The largest gun show in the United States is the annual SHOT Show. Only trade professionals, such as buyers for retail stores or law enforcement agencies, are allowed entry. It has attracted over 60,000 attendees to its 630,000 square feet of exhibition space in Las Vegas.
Arizona is a shall-issue, permitless carry state with concealed weapons permits issued at the state level by the Department of Public Safety. There is no permit, background check or firearms registration required when buying a handgun from a private individual.
