Mr. Lee was born July 12, 1922. He was the son of the late Willie Strickland Lee and the late Minnie Robinson Lee. Mr. Lee had made Pearl his home for the past 40 years.

He worked for Illinois-Central Gulf Railroad for more than 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a faithful member of McLaurin I leights Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family said he was a man of great integrity, gentleness and faith despite being confined to a wheelchair for the past 14 years. He loved watching his children and grandchildren grow up around him, often sharing his wisdom of years lived with each.

He also loved watching his devoted wife go about daily routines of taking care of him and their home. He enjoyed watching "his Braves" on television and being surrounded by his loving dogs. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Geneva Lee; his son, Willie H. Lee and wife Martha of Brandon; grandchildren, Pierce and Nick Lee of Brandon; a daughter, Patricia Lee Curtis and husband David K. Curtis of Columbus; grandchildren, Kennon and Katie Lee Curtis of Columbus; and daughter Robbin J.

12, 1 9 1 6, in the Silver Creek community of Pike County to George Washington Estess and Melissa Clara Smith Estess. He had lived in the Jackson area since 1946 and was a longtime member and elder of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church. Mr. Estess received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Mississippi State University. After graduation, he taught classes at the university for a short time.

He served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre and retired as a colonel. He also retired as a Hinds County agent with the Mississippi State University Extension Service. Mr. Estess was active in community work.

He volunteered at Central Mississippi Medical Center, formerly Hinds General Hospital and was president of the Volunteer Association. He also was a member of the Hinds County Committee for zoning. Extremely active in the Hinds County 4-H Club, Mr. Estess formed and organized the first horse show, which is still active today. He was also instrumental in getting the Southwestern District Livestock Show moved to Hinds County.

Mr. Estess was a longtime active Rotarian and member of the Capital Club in Jackson that met at Primo's every week. One of his favorite pastimes was his plants. He loved digging in the dirt and watching plants grow. He and his wife Virginia have been residents at Trace Pointe in Clinton for more than five years and were among some of the first residents.

He recently was honored with the title of Trace Pointe Favorite and was the president of the Resident Council at Trace Pointe. Mr. Estess was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 40 years, Audrey Smith Estess; five brothers, Lynn Estess, Vardamon Estes6, Newell Smith Estess, Ansel Estess and Wensel Estess; a sister, Carey Estess Harang; and a grandson, Ryan Lyle Sperandeo. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Barlow Estess of Clinton; children, Marti Williams and her husband Dr. Charles Williams of Clinton, Carolyn E.
