Shipping:
USA: Most items ship from our warehouse in Milwaukee, WI, but if you are ordering a heavy or oversized item, we often have the manufacturer ship it directly to you to reduce shipping costs and save you money. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on shipment weight and destination. Eartheasy can ship to residential and commercial addresses in all 50 US States, but unfortunately oversized products do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii and have your heart set on an oversized item, give us a call and we’ll try our best to help you with a freight quote. Unfortunately we do not ship to U.S. Territories or U.S. military installations at this time, but we are working on making these options available soon.
Canada: Please check product pages to see whether your product is eligible for shipping to Canada, as unfortunately there are some products we cannot ship across the border. Canadian orders ship weekly on Thursdays via Purolator International and shipping costs include duties and taxes. Unfortunately, expedited shipping to Canada is not available at this time.
International: Unfortunately we cannot ship internationally, including Mexico or freight forwarders. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Processing Time & Shipping Charges: The "Lead Time" on a product specifies the number of business days for your item to be prepared by our warehouse. The Lead Time does not include the date the order is placed. This also applies for all shipping methods, including express methods. If your item is shipping freight, you will receive a call to schedule the delivery with your driver. If your shopping cart has multiple items, a shipping charge may apply even if some items are listed as "Free Shipping", as charges apply to items rather than total cart quantities.

For a 4x8–foot raised bed with a 10” height, about 1 cubic yard of soil is needed. For a 4x8-foot raised bed with a 6” height, using Mel's Mix: about 5 cubic feet each of compost, peat moss, and vermiculite is needed.
You can grow up to 32 different plants inside your 4' x 8' raised garden bed using “Square Foot Gardening” techniques. There are countless books and online resources available to guide you in this rewarding method of gardening.
Composite boards have several benefits over wood and is the perfect material for garden beds. Using composite for your garden beds will ensure they will stand the test of time, providing an ideal home for your vegetables, variety of flowers or outdoor plants.
If you are able to work on all sides of the bed you've made, I would put 8 indeterminate (tall) tomato plants in there, placing them in 2 rows of 4 with the 8 ft stakes that they'll need pounded in at the edges of the bed and the tomatoes placed right against them inside the bed, if that makes sense.
As a rule of thumb, a 4'x8' raised bed that is 6 inches deep requires approximately 8 bags of soil while a 4'x8' raised bed that is 12 inches deep requires approximately 16 bags of soil.
4 ft. Bed is 4 x 8 feet or 32 square feet 21 emitters in bed = 1/2 gallon per hour drip emitter on 1 foot center Example: For vegetables in the summer, we recommend applying about 1 inch of water over the surface area of the garden bed per week. That is equivalent to 0.623 gallons per sq ft.
Potatoes require a good amount of space to grow, so it's essential to plan accordingly. Here are some tips on how many potatoes you can grow in a raised bed: The size of your raised bed will determine how many potatoes you can grow. A standard raised bed size of 4 feet by 8 feet can yield up to 100 pounds of potatoes.
And if you're wondering how many pepper plants to plant in a 4x8 raised bed, the general rule of thumb is to plant one pepper plant per square foot, so you can fit 32 plants in a 4x8 raised bed.
A: Cutting out the sod underneath your beds, then laying landscape fabric down underneath your beds work best. The fabric will allow water to pass through, but will help prevent weeds. If you cannot dig up the grass, you can also tarp it for a few weeks or months first, and that will effectively bake the grass.
Raised garden beds are containers made from wood, metal, or even Trex deck boards that hold soil above ground level. They offer several benefits over traditional in-ground gardening.
Plant them at 18- to 24-inch spacing. Don't worry about letting the plants lean to one side; in a few days, they straighten up on their own. Water tomatoes at planting and regularly while growing to avoid blossom-end rot, which is caused when the soil is allowed to dry out.
Add 2–3 inches of compost or soil mix and other amendments such as lime. Mix the added materials into the existing soil. If you excavated soil while installing your raised beds, mix in compost and use it to fill the raised beds. Add up to 25% compost by volume to fill the depth of the bed.
The general rule of thumb is 1/4 to 1/2 inch if applying to the top of the soil and 1 to 2 inches amended to 6 to 8 inches when amending into the soil. Recommended maximums are 25% to 30% compost in a soil blend, but no more than 25% compost in containers or raised beds.
Move the tool 6-8 inches and repeat. This will help loosen the subsoil which will improve drainage and aeration. (Do not lift and flip the soil over.) Add a mixture of compost and purchased topsoil in a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio, to the top of the bed.
